I remember meeting Mike Huckabee at the University of Arkansas’ Baptist Student Union (now called Baptist Collegate Ministry) while I was there as an undergraduate.  He was a former Baptist pastor, and he spoke at one of our student luncheons.  Shortly after that meeting, he ran for governor of Arkansas and won.  I was impressed with him then, and I think he’s making a great stand today.  Check out this post, or the full article from the New York Times here.

I have been blessed by a wonderful wife.  I don’t say this tritely.  She has a true servant heart, is diligent, teaches our children with joy, blesses our home, and more.  Over the past years that we have been married, I have come to see more clearly that one of the reasons why she turned out to be a wonderful lady and a great Mom is because her Dad spent countless hours with her.  He has loved all his children and grandchildren with tremendous amounts of love.  He has often showed his love by spending lots of time with his children.  He is the biggest encourager and fan of all his children’s endeavors.  I too have benefited from Jim Hamilton, Sr.’s encouragement.

This weekend Coach, as I call my father-in-law, was honored by being inducted into the Ouachita Baptist University’s athletic hall of fame.  Jim Hamilton, Jr. has posted a great tribute with a video of the banquet presentation on his blog.

Coach has had big successes on the field and court.  He had big hits and big scores (second leading scorer in OBU history), but his biggest attribute is his heart.  And to that I am forever blessed and grateful.

Two blogs that I want to highly recommend are “For His Renown” and “Between Two Worlds.”  The first is by Jim Hamilton, my brother-in-law.  Jim is a highly passionate preacher and professor of biblical studies.  The second is by Justin Taylor, editor and publisher for Crossway Books.

Both of these sites provide excellent resources and information on the latest events in Evangelicalism.

There are others that I will add to my Blogroll, but if I were to refer you to just two, these are the ones that I go to first.  Enjoy!
