Can Huckabee Win? October 25, 2007

I was reminded in a presentation today that Mark Twain is often credited the quote, “everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.” I was convicted by the speaker’s point that there are things we can affect and should affect. Shortly after this presentation, I read this post.
Recently, family members and I have discussed doubts that Mike Huckabee could win the presidential election–be it finances or what else. We’ll that’s a poor excuse to do nothing. I want to encourage everyone to consider Huckabee’s campaign. I’m going to support Huckabee. Like the speaker pointed out today, there are things we can do and should do.

I remember meeting Mike Huckabee at the University of Arkansas’ Baptist Student Union (now called Baptist Collegate Ministry) while I was there as an undergraduate. He was a former Baptist pastor, and he spoke at one of our student luncheons. Shortly after that meeting, he ran for governor of Arkansas and won. I was impressed with him then, and I think he’s making a great stand today. Check out this post, or the full article from the New York Times here.
